Ten in Evin prison punished by solitude

According to the “Campaign for Peace Activists in Exile” ten prisoners of section 350 of the Evin prison were transferred to solitary confinement in section 240. The transfer was caused by verbal conflicts with Mozaffar Musavand and Javad Momeni, responsible authorities of the Evin prison. Political prisoners Saeed Madani, Abdollah Momeni, Abolfazl Abedini Nasr, Siyamak Ghaderi, Amir Khosro Dalirsani, Mohamad Hassan Yousefpour Seifi, Saeed Abedini, Kamran Ayazi, Mohamad Ebrahimi and Poriya Ebrahimi were all moved to solitary confinement in the morning of April 28. The conflict might be originated in the cruel, dehumanizing behaviour towards the convicts by prison deputy governor Javad Momeni, who also represents and witnesses all executions and hangings inside the prison. Although previous reports informed about beaten and tortured prisoners, the reason for the recent incidents is not yet clear. Also according to other websites the ten political prisoners, in addition to being placed in solitary confinement, are now also banned from visits. These prisoners have threatened to launch a hunger strike if the situation is not remedied.
