Panel discussion on unilateral coercive measures and human rights

Unilateral coercive measures as economic sanctions have shown, especially those that are in relation to Iran, that they have placed a great amount of pressure on the average citizens of the countries, rather than the despotic systems that gravely violate the human rights laws. The economic corruption within the sanctions increases drastically as the economic transparency disintegrates. The case of Babak Zanjani, who was one of the significant figures in Iran’s economic corruption scene, was charged with stealing $17.5 billion. Although food and medicine was excluded from the sanctions, a substantial amount of citizens suffered and died due to food and medicine still not made available to them. Sudwind believes that the citizens of countries under the unilateral coercive measures suffer a great deal, despite having the right to have access to food and medicine.
